Mission Statement
The goal of this website is to create an online community of gurus to newbies for the promotion of dialogue and exchange of knowledge between audience response solution users and providers. The website is an extension of the book: “Audience Response Solution: Applications and Best Practices.”

What is an (audience response system) ARS?
An audience response system (ARS) combines both hardware (keypads) and software. Audience members may use a keypad to enter responses during a presentation. The responses are transmitted to a base station, which relays the data to a computer. ARS software then tallies, sorts, and stores the data, allowing the data to be viewed during or after the presentation.

Purpose
An audience response system (ARS) is a type of presentation technology that facilitates data exchange between an audience and a presenter. ARSs are versatile tools in presentations that create a unique and interactive environment that keeps people engaged, collect data, and aid in learning.

 Introduction to Audience Response Systems

Why use ARS?
Hand-raising, flashcards, and other low-tech methods of audience response have been used for centuries. So what makes ARS more effective and appealing than traditional methods? After all, we’ve gone so long without ARS… As technology evolves, there is a need to replace old methods with newer, more efficient methods for today’s world. ARS is here to fulfill that need. By using ARS over traditional methods of presentation, you change your overall style of presentation. You can use ARS to captivate your audience. Studies of audience response have shown that ARS performs more favorably compared to the low-tech methods, as people are more likely to give an honest response when they do not know the “popular answer.” ARS can quickly and anonymously collect data, making poll-taking much more efficient and accurate. Because data collection and sorting using ARS is so quick, you can divide your results according to demographic data such as race, gender, and age. Overall, using ARS saves time, and can impress and engage your audience, which in turn makes your presentation much more fun and memorable.

Who uses ARS?
Because ARS has such a wide range of uses, it makes sense that it also appeals to a wide range of people. Educators can use ARS to create a better learning atmosphere by promoting an interactive classroom. Researchers can use ARS to obtain more reliable results, as ARS anonymously collects data. Game show hosts can use ARS to engage their audiences and allow them to feel more “a part of the game.” Educators, researchers, and game show hosts are all very different types of people, yet they share a universal appeal for ARS technology. In terms of convenience, efficiency, and speed, ARS is unmatched when it comes to presentation technology.
